Obituary of Cynthia Sue Barber

Cynthia Sue Barber, age 45, passed away at home in Port Charlotte, FL on July 2, 2013 with family and close friends by her side. She was born December 22, 1967 in Traverse City, MI to her parents, Donald R. Kabat, Sr. and Eileen Merrill Kabat, residing there until 1978 when the family relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida. Cindy married her high school sweetheart, R. Scott Barber on October 10, 1987 at St. Charles Borromeo in Port Charlotte, FL. She attended Port Charlotte High School and Edison Community College. She had a fulfilling career in financial services and worked at Landsberg Bennett Private Wealth Management, Merrill Lynch US Wealth Management, Bank of America, Barnett Bank, First Florida Bank, Winn Dixie and McDonalds. Cindy loved family. She was the youngest of four. She will be remembered and missed by her loving husband, R. Scott Barber, her daughter, Paige Nicole Barber, her son, Joshua Lance Barber, her father, Donald R. Kabat Sr. (Port Charlotte, FL), oldest sister, Laura A. Andrews and her spouse, Mark C. Andrews (Royston, GA), her sister, Lisa E. Horan and her spouse, Michael Horan (Dell Rapids, SD), her nieces, Heather Brill-Lehn (Sacramento, CA), Robin M. Andrews (Royston, GA), Priscilla K. Donnelly (Port Charlotte, FL), Amanda L. Scarborough (Colbert, GA), Rhianna K. Donnelly (Tampa, FL), Emma Barber (Port Charlotte, FL) and nephews, Donald (DJ) Kabat (Covington, GA), Benjamin J. Andrews (Charleston Air Force Base), Eric Barber (Port Charlotte, FL), Justin Barber (Port Charlotte, FL), her in-laws, Raymond and Judy Barber (Port Charlotte, FL), her sister in-law, Kristen Barber (Port Charlotte, FL), her brother in-law, Kip and spouse, Debbie Barber (Port Charlotte, FL), and her dogs, Ziploc and Shoeshine. Cindy is predeceased in death by her mother, Eileen Merrill Kabat (January 1, 2003) and her brother, Donald R. Kabat, Jr. (October 23, 1995.) Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrate Cindy on Saturday, July 6 at 10:00AM at First Alliance Church located at 20444 Midway Blvd., Port Charlotte, FL. Reception immediately following at Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center at 75 Taylor Street in Punta Gorda, FL in Room Hibiscus C.
