Obituary of Lavonne Aghetto Adkin

Lavonne Aghetto Adkin, 85, of Port Charlotte, formerly of Punta Gorda Isles and Rochester, NY, died peacefully May 21, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, in Port Charlotte, of breast cancer. She was born to the late Victor and Carmela (nee: Rienzi) Aghetto on September 27, 1927 in Rochester, NY. Vonnie married John Vernon Adkin (Jack) on July 20, 1946. They moved to Punta Gorda Isles, Florida, in 1984, and enjoyed many years of sailing the local waters and travel around the world. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, which took wonderful care of Vonnie during her last 8 months. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Jack, of Port Charlotte; four daughters, Linda McGavin (Bruce), Diane Adkin (Bob Raemer), Sharon Adkin, Cynthia Beeler (Robert); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of Vonnie's life will be held at South Port Square, in the Gables East lobby, 23053 Westchester Blvd., Port Charlotte, at 10:00 am on Friday, May 24.
