Obituary of Christine Geffrard

Christine Sylvain Geffrard, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 14, 2023 at the age of 86. She was born in Leogane, Haiti on July 13, 1936, the daughter of Anmais Ornelien & Amoville Sylvain. After immigrating to the US in 1968, Christine spent her early years in Washington DC and New York before moving to Stamford, Connecticut with her family and finally retiring in Port Charlotte, Florida. Christine was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was a kind and generous person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. She was witty and had a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. She will be remembered for dedicate years of service working at Stamford Hospital, as an active member of the local Stamford Haitian community and for the lasting friendships that developed over the past 50 years. Christine is survived by her husband, Antoine Geffrard; daughters; Solange, Lenide & Marilyn, her grandchildren, and extended family. A private service will be held for family members and close friends on Friday, April 21, 2023 @ 1pm. Flowers may be sent to Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children Hospital or Alzheimer Association, in her honor. Christine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in our hearts forever.
