Obituary of Jeffrey W Gjerde

With sadness, love, and profound gratitude, the family of Jeffrey W. Gjerde, of Port Charlotte, Florida announces his passing on March 6, 2023. He was 62 years old. He was born on March 5th, 1961, in Aurora, Illinois to parents Olaf and Marlene (nee Watkins) Gjerde. He attended West Aurora High School and then went on to get his bachelor’s degree at Wake Forest University. He was a truck driver for retail merchandise. He loved fishing and spending time out on the water. Jeffrey was married to the love of his life, Charlene (nee Miller) Gjerde for 22 years. Together, they lived life to the fullest. He was a loving man and enjoyed being surrounded by family. He was blessed with three children, Robert, Amanda and Allyssa. He was also an adoring Grandpa to his grandchildren David, Sophia and an unborn baby that’s due in September 2023. Jeffrey is survived by his wife, Charlene Gjerde; children, Robert (Ann) Myatt, Amanda (Alex) Howard and Allyssa (Jay) Gjerde-Edwards; brother, Tim Gjerde; mother, Marlene Gjerde and grandchildren, David Myatt and an unborn baby. Jeffrey is predeceased by his father, Olaf Gjerde and granddaughter Sophia Howard. There will be a celebration of life under the pavilion at Gilchrist Park at 2pm on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
