So very, very sad to hear about Ernie's passing.
He was one of my favorite pilots and I always enjoyed it when he was flying a departure I was working at Washington-Dulles Airport.
Thoughts and prayers to all of his family and friends.

Ernie and I flew together many times in my early years at American. I was the Flight Engineer and Ernie was the First Officer and we always had a great time. He was always the consummate professional on the job and a great guy on the layovers especially when we were in LA or San Francisco. I have seen him at a few of the Grey Eagles Conventions in these last many years and enjoyed reminiscing about those early days. Ernie was a great guy who will be sorely missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family on the occasion of his passing. CA. Pete Jeffrey, AA, retired
