Obituary of William J Janiak

William J. "Bill" Janiak, 93, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away peacefully on Monday December 5, 2022. Bill was born in Stafford Springs, CT, to the late Joseph & Frances Janiak. He grew up and attended local schools in Stafford, where he married Pauline (Poirier), and raised his family. He spent most of his work life at Hamilton Standard. Bill had a hale & hearty laugh and loved a good joke. He was happiest with his maps and plans for the next road trip, which he and Polly took in their RV as often as possible. He also enjoyed RV adventures with his grandchildren, swimming and playing games together. They finally settled in Florida, and he spent the next years enjoying the sunshine and doing a bit of woodcarving. Bill is survived by his son Jon (Michele) Janiak of Kennebunk, ME; daughter Kathleen (Steve) Pelizari of Stafford. Grandchildren Courtney, Alison, and Tyler (Angie) Janiak all of Maine, as well as 2 great grandchildren Henry and Camden. He also leaves a sister Linda (Ed) Mitchell of Charlotte, NC, a sister-in-law Susan Janiak of West Hartford and several nephews and nieces. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Polly, and brother Joseph Janiak. A special thank you to all the nurses, and staff of Port Charlotte Rehabilitation Center. A memorial service is planned for spring.
