Obituary of Rita Louise Adkins

Rita Louise (Zimmerman) Adkins, age 66 of Punta Gorda, passed away June 7, 2022 at Port Charlotte Tidewell Hospice. She was born in Tipton, Indiana and moved to Charlotte County, Florida in 1959. Rita would have been the class of 1974 in Charlotte High School. She worked 25 years with the city of Punta Gorda. Rita is predeceased by her father, Robert Wayne Zimmerman; mother, Bonnie Zimmerman Sours; brother, Jeffery Lynn Zimmerman; and sister, Carol Zimmerman Garrod. Left behind to cherish her memories are her sons, Joey Adkins, Michael Adkins and Tony Adkins; sisters, Sherri Zimmerman Rawls and Ramona Sours Peters; step-brothers, Wade Sours, C. David Sours and John Sours; and step-sister Susan Sours Quick. There are no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Tidewell Hospice in Rita’s honor.
