Burial will follow the mass at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn South Cemetery, 11655 SW 117th Ave, Miami, FL 33186. Dorothy was born on September 30, 1928 at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, Michigan. She was the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Leininger) Rasch. She attended Remington Grade School and graduated from Yale High School in 1946. During her time growing up she enjoyed roller skating at the roller rink, dancing, and always had good ideas for fun activities. She attended Flint Jr. College where she studied nursing before being married to her beloved husband Robert Brandon. They were married at Sacred Heart Church in Yale, Michigan on June 21, 1947. Together they nurtured and raised four beautiful children who surrounded her with love and care. While she lived in Michigan she worked for Chevrolet Auto Company, Plant 3, in the office department and also AC Spark Plug. Shortly after, she and her family relocated from Michigan to the Florida Keys. There she was employed as Office Manager at the Florida Keys Keynoter in Marathon where she worked until her retirement. After her husband preceded her in death, Dorothy moved to Venice, Florida. There she dabbled in real estate and faithfully volunteered in the hospital and nursing homes. She also lived in Conyers, Georgia and her last place of residence was in Port Charlotte near her children. She was an active member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Dorothy was strong and independent with a big heart for others. She traveled extensively with her children; With Carol she traveled domestically in the U.S. and with Janet she traveled internationally. Dorothy relished the opportunity of new adventures and experiences. She knew how to have a great time and include those around her and make them feel welcome, loved, and a part of whatever was going on. She enjoyed softball as a catcher, working puzzles with family, and playing cards, particularly Euchre. She had a special connection with Daisy, her beloved grand-dog who was as much a part of the family as everyone else. Daisy always waited outside her bedroom door and would often be found under the covers in bed with her or sitting in her lap! Most of all, Dorothy loved being with her family and cherished every moment, every memory, and every opportunity to be with them. Dorothy had a life of fulfillment and satisfaction, but her love of our Great Lord Jesus Christ and the love of her children, grandchildren, and many friends is what truly filled her heart. She will be greatly missed, but being in the midst of our Lord offers peace and hope that we will one day see her again. She is survived by her children, Carol Brandon Hill, Janet Brandon, and Ronald (Debbie) Brandon of Port Charlotte, FL, Robert (Dixie) Brandon of North Port, FL grandchildren Eric (Kelly) Brandon of Boca Raton, FL, Marlene (Mickey) Stewart Deavers of Jacksonville, NC, Richard Duncan of Clayton, NC, Tabitha (Sean) Easevoli Hurd Apollo Beach, FL, John (Katey) Easevoli of Orlando, FL and great-grandchildren Courtney Stewart, Cameron (Rachel) Stewart, Hannah and Harper Hurd as well as many nieces, nephews, and a circle of dear friends. Dorothy is also survived by 2 sisters, Marie Rasch of Venice, FL and JoAnn (Gerald) Tenbusch of North Port, FL. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (1978), and siblings, Lawrence, Bernard, and Donald Rasch as well as Rosalie Nielsen and Gertrude Prochazka. The family would like to thank all the extended family and friends for their ongoing prayers and continual support during this time. Any expressions of sympathy can be made to St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Gymnasium fund, 21505 Augusta Ave, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
