Obituary of Roger W. Long

Roger W. Long passed away on May 9, 2022. He was born in Columbus, OH on June 10, 1942. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon Long, three children, Carol Milton, Susan Long, and Michael Long, three grandchildren, Caitlyn Milton, Connor Milton, Abby Tepas, Tyler Tepas, and Leah Tepas. He attended Parsons College in Iowa with a degree in accounting followed by a master's degree in health care administration from TWU in Denton, Texas. He also was an honor graduate in the Air Force. While attending college, Roger was a member of Lamda Chi Fraternity. Throughout his professional career, he served as a hospital administrator. After retiring, his love of building took over. He became a general building contractor and built 70 homes. Later he continued this enjoyment by renovating and flipping 12 condos/houses in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Other hobbies included restoring boats, antique cars, golf, and travel. As a member of First United Methodist Church in Tifton, Georgia, Roger went on a mission trip to Mobile, Alabama. Later he served on the missions team to Haiti from Burnt Store Presbyterian Church in Punta Florida. We remember Roger with love and happy memories. A Celebration of life service will be held at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church in Punta Gorda, Florida on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Liver Cancer Foundation or Burnt Store Presbyterian Church at 11330 Burnt Store Road, Punta Gorda, Florida.
