Obituary of Elbert Murray Chinn

Elbert Murray Chinn Sr., 84, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at his residence with family by his side. He was born March 1, 1937 to the late Everett Austin Chinn and Ludie Irene Richmond in Detroit, Michigan. He married the love of his life Sharon May Adams on Sept 12, 1959. Elbert retired as a Sr. Electrical Designer with GM in 1996 and proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1956 -1976. Mr. Chinn was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Sharon Chinn of Port Charlotte, FL; sons, William (Katy) of Washington Township, MI, Edward (Julie) of Largo, FL and Elbert (Nicole) of Ida, MI; brothers, Bruce (Lois) of Harrison, MI and Eddie (Susan) of Greenville, SC.; beloved grandchildren, Nikolaus, Madeline, Ryley, Skyler and Parker. The viewing will be held from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Thursday, March 3rd at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 5200 Indian Springs Road, Punta Gorda followed by burial at the Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in the name of Elbert Murray Chinn Sr. to Tidewell Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
