Obituary of David Hensley

David Louis Hensley, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on July 23, 2021 of natural causes at Venice Regional Bayfront Hospital in Sarasota, Florida. He was 66 years old. He was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on April 28, 1955 to Jack Loyd Hensley Sr. and Meredith Ann Griffith. David graduated from Yukon High School in 1974 and then continued on to UCO. He was in commercial sales of steel buildings for Alliance Steel. David enjoyed his life fully in his own way. The company of his family and friends was his heart. Music was his religion. Horse racing, sports, grilling out with family, friends and brew dogs were his joy. David took pride in everything he did from his children, his profession, his family and his friends to his home and vehicles. He loved his children and grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them. He always had a story to tell that would make you laugh and you could always go to him for advice. He was everyone's biggest fan and always supported you through any endeavor. He was a legendary man and we that knew him are his legacy. David is preceded by his parents Jack Loyd Hensley Sr. and Meredith Ann Griffith, his brother Mark Hensley, and his nephew Shane Williams. He is survived by his four children, His nine grandchildren, his three siblings, his seven nieces and nephews, his many great nieces and nephews, and extended families and friends. There will be a memorial service hosted by Paul and Lynn Hensley at 117 Bridal Path NW, Piedmont, Oklahoma 73078 on Sunday August 1st at 5:00 pm.
