Obituary of Franco Augusto Silvera

Franco Augusto Silvera Ortega of Punta Gorda, FL and formerly of Miami, FL passed away peacefully at his home on May 28, 2021. He was 85 years old. Franco was born in Barranquilla, Colombia on August 10, 1935 to Francisco Silvera and Julia Ortega. In 1965, Franco and his wife, Aura, moved from Colombia to Miami, where they raised their family and built a beautiful life together. Franco always had an interest in aircraft and enjoyed a long career as an Aviation Technician. For relaxation, he spent time in his backyard, gardening and appreciating what he helped nurture. Franco also had a very spirited side. He enjoyed playing the Florida Lottery and truly lived his life to the fullest. Most of all, however, Franco treasured the time he spent taking care of his loved ones. Franco was preceded in death by his parents and will be forever missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Aura Esther Silvera and their 3 sons, who he was so proud of, Milton, Nelson and Franco E. Silvera (Jr).
