Kathleen “Kay” M. O’Connor (Houck) (McGwin), 84 years, passed away May 13, 2021, in Port Charlotte, FL. She was predeceased by beloved husbands Theodore J. Houck Jr. and Robert W. O’Connor, son Jeffery W. Houck, and brothers William P. McGwin and Daniel V. McGwin. She is survived by her children Theodore J. (Adrienne) Houck III, Thomas A. (Michele) Houck, Stephen A. (Debra) Houck, and Jacqueline A. (James) Lobene, 13 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Kay was born November 1, 1936 in Rochester, NY, the eldest daughter of William McGwin and Bridget McGwin (Vesey), an Irish immigrant. She attended Sacred Heart Cathedral elementary school where she met her first love, Ted Houck. After she graduated from Nazareth Academy High School, they married and began a family. Widowed at a young age, Kay worked hard to raise and support five children, all of whom graduated college. In 1990, she found love a second time and married Bob O’Connor, an Irishman. After the loss of Bob, Kay moved to Sarasota, FL to enjoy the sunshine and company of friends. Always the life of the party, Kay’s laugh was contagious, and could be heard across the room. Kay loved her family, especially the young ones, tiring never to miss sending a birthday card.
