Obituary of Kathleen Ann Skender

Kathleen "Kathi" Skender After an almost 3 year long battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Kathi Skender passed away on May 13th 2021 in Port Charlotte FL at the age pf 72. She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Dave; sister, Janet and grandson, Arlo. Kathi was born on January 15th 1949 in Milwaukee, WI to her parents, Kathrine and Louis Kiss who preceded her in death. Kathi was very active in her heritage as a longtime member of the Croatian Fraternal Union and in her youth, belonged to the Hungarian Society of Milwaukee. Kathi was a very proud member of her church, Sacred Heart, where she and her husband made many cherished friendships. Her faith and compassion allowed her to have an undeniable ability to welcome and comfort so many, for which her presence will be immeasurably missed. Kathi was a Disney fanatic who never stopped believing in the power of magic. This was apparent by her ability to keep her head up during her ongoing fight with cancer. Kathi’s life will be celebrated on Friday, May 21st at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, FL. The service will begin at 11:00 AM. A Sunset Farewell will take place from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at Gilchrist Park, Pavilion # 1.
