'Big Al' gave me my break in radio back in the 90's, and taught me two things: 1) work your butt off at the office; 2) it's ok to retire in your 40's and pursue a completely different passion. It didn't hurt we were both life-long Parrotheads who used to commiserate over a cig in his office, back when that was still allowed. He taught me a lot about radio, but more about life and how to live it. My deepest condolences to Joy and his children, the true loves of his life.
Joy and family, Our hearts are broken, but take comfort knowing Al is at peace with the Lord. We will be watching for his Travelogue. We know if it's possible, he’ll be sending one. We are grateful for his friendship. We will miss Al’s kindness, sharing, and definitely his sense of humor along with that big smile! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Tom & Leah Knoerlein
