Obituary of Richard Louis Morse

Richard Louis Morse of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on February 1, 2021 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital (Port Charlotte). He was 70 years old. Richard was born on September 26, 1950 in Aurora, Illinois to John and Elizabeth (Doemland) Morse. He graduated East Aurora High School (Aurora, IL) and Waubonsee Community College (Sugar Grove, IL) and served in the Army Reserves. Richard enjoyed his bible studies. He volunteered with Homeless Missions and enjoyed fundraising, cooking meals and the set-up and clean-up of the church's many purposeful functions. He also cherished the time he spent with his family, preparing meals, watching movies and playing games together. Richard received great joy when socializing and meeting new people, which correlated with his decades-long career in sales, spending his time interrelating with and guiding others. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth and is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Carol (Michels) Morse; daughter, Sandra (Eric) Samberg; son, Erik (Tiffany) Morse; grandchildren, Braden and Bryce; and also other loving family members, including Gary and Pat Morse, John and Annette Morse, Suzanne (Morse) Nuenkirchen and Cindy Morse. A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held on Friday, February 5th, 2021 at 6:00 PM at New Day Christian Church in Port Charlotte, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in loving memory of Richard to the New Day Christian Church’s “Beyond 2020 Campaign”. The family wishes to sincerely thank everyone for their prayers and support.
