Obituary of Laurence Burlew

Laurence (Larry) E. Burlew Jr., passed away at the age of 76 on January 2, 2021 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital from a long battle with IPF. He was born on November 24, 1944 to parents Kathryn and Lawrence Burlew Sr. He was born in Elmira, native of New York and then of Florida. He graduated high school in 1962 from Horseheads, NY. Laurence was a building and roof inspector for Charlotte County Building Department. He loved garage sales, price comparing, antiques, camping, CB radios and spending his time at Disney World and Universal Studios. He married his lovely bride Gloria Walberg in Arcadia, Florida in 2013. He is survived by his wife Gloria Walberg, sons, Laurence Burlew III (Jennifer) and Dustin Burlew, daughter Holli Durbin (Jason) step-daughter Nicole Lusardi (Robert), grandchildren Lacey Bittner (Chun-Yi), Kaylea Burlew, Seonaide, Devlyn and Eric Durbin, Phoebe Burlew, step-children Mckenzie Streffling and Skylar Spencer and 2 great grandsons. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Laurence’s name. There will be a celebration of life on February 20, 2021 at noon at 1053 Hodent Road, Arcadia Florida. He is resting at Charlotte Memorial Cemetery at 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Road, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950.
