Obituary of Eileen Eunice Cyr

Eileen Eunice Cyr entered eternal rest on July 14, 2020 in the comfort of her home in Port Charlotte, FL. Eileen was born in Passaic, NJ on December 30, 1930, the only child of Eunice and Cornelius DeYoung. She was a graduate of Hawthorne HS. She lived in Forked River, NJ before moving to Ft. Myers, FL in 1990, then to Port Charlotte. Eileen is the beloved mother of 5 children, Andrew Uveges (Ruth), Elieen Rac, Jacklyn Bakogiannis (Steve), Scott Uveges, and Nancy Uveges. She has 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her first husband, John "Jack" Uveges (1984) and her second husband, Robert L. Cyr (2001). Eileen's greatest joy in life was caring for her family. If you were kind to her children, you earned a place in her heart. She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, there was always room at her table. She also loved gardening and traveling. Her travels often took her to visit with her children and grandchildren. Eileen was employed as a waitress much of her life, and she possessed a work ethic that is rare to find today. A private visitation and service will be held on Monday, July 20th, 2020 at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Rd, Punta Gorda FL 33950.
