Obituary of Frances Bair

Frances Bair 1941-2020 Frances (Hoppe) Bair of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on July 13, 2020. Known by all as Frankie, she made her journey Home bravely and peacefully. She was greeted in Heaven by three of her children; sons Joseph and Michael and daughter Christine. Frankie was born on November 27, 1941 in Charlestown, Massachusetts to Joseph A. and Evelyn M. (Gould) Hoppe. She was one of thirteen children. She married Paul Stroedter, Jr. in 1959 and they had 8 children. They were raised in Brockton and East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. In 1977 she met Charles L. Bair at a Parents Without Partners function and they were married on May 6, 1978 ("5678"). Chuck was raising 3 children of his own and both families all lived together in the yellow house...with one bathroom. Their big blended family grew by one more on August 12, 1980 with the birth of their daughter Carla. Needless to say, their house overflowed with noise and love. Frankie loved knitting, crocheting, and playing bingo. She made many knitted holiday and birthday dolls for her family over the years, which they still have. She saved everything from report cards to dentist erasers, and those memories will last forever. She enjoyed camping and traveling and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. Of all the names she was called, Nana and Grammy Elvis were her favorite. All of their children reside in either Florida or Massachusetts so one can imagine the rivalry when the Patriots played the Dolphins! After moving to Florida they traveled back to Massachusetts most summers to visit their other children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and forever loved. Recently celebrating 42 years of devoted marriage, she is survived by her beloved husband Charles Bair. Loving mother of Carla and Duane Wright, Michelle Stroedter, Robert Stroedter, Paul Stroedter III, Rhondalee and Derik Larson, Pamela and George Atwood, JeanMarie and Harold Mazzilli, Steven and Renee Bair, Michael and Patti Bair, and Joyce Silva. Beloved grandmother of Angela, Brittany, Julia, Lily, Johnathan, Thomas, Ryan, Jessica, Sherrilyn, Michael, Charles, Melissa, and Vanessa. Also survived by several great-grandchildren and her dear friend Claire. A special thanks to her hospice nurse Nancy. A small private family service will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a favorite charity in memory of Frankie.
