Jere worked for the Furniture Ministry for several years at St. Vincent's in Punta Gorda, FL as a truck driver delivering furniture to those less fortunate. I worked with Jere, as manager of this ministry, and found him to always be upbeat and always had a story to tell (sometimes over and over again). My husband, Rick, who died 3 years ago, worked with Jere over these years and enjoyed Jere's company as well as his stories. A few years ago Jere moved on to help St. Max in Port Charlotte in their Furniture Ministry and we missed him then and will miss him now. I'm sorry I'm unable to attend his funeral, but I start teaching a Mah Jongg class that day. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jere's family.
God bless.

I was blessed to know Jere through our mutual volunteer work with the St. Vincent DePaul Furniture Ministry in Punta Gorda.
We always had a good time with Jere and learned alot about the bakery and oven business. Jere always had a positive attitude and was willing do whatever it took to help those less fortunate. He was willing to fill in for others when they were away, and if it were up to Jere he would have volunteered every day if he could. We shared many days together on the truck picking up and delivering furniture. May God Bless the family in their time of loss. I will miss Jere and so will all of those who had a chance to volunteer with him. RIP my friend. Brian Beardslee
