Obituary of Janet L. Nelson

Janet Lee Nelson, 60, of Punta Gorda, FL, passed away after a long battle with breast cancer on Monday, September 16, 2019.  Janet was born on January 24, 1959 in LeMars, IA.  She graduated high school with her husband Michael in 1977 and subsequently received her degree in Health Care Business Administration in 2004 after raising her family.  She worked in that field until her passing, most recently at Eye Centers of Florida.  Janet truly enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and had a great passion for her pets.  She loved traveling, riding motorcycles, and reading in her spare time.  She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Michael Allen Nelson, her children, Joshua Allen Nelson of Milwaukee, WI, Melanie Lee Waterbury and her husband Ben of Iowa City, IA, and Melissa Joy Nelson of Milwaukee, WI, four grandchildren, John, Elizabeth, David, and Michael, her father Melvin Lewis Harms of Punta Gorda, FL, sister Joanne Jean Doyah and husband Ray of Anadarko, OK, and brother Jeffery Lewis Harms and wife Sonia of LeMars, IA.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 10AM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home.
