Obituary of Michael D. Lockey

Michael D. Lockey, 37, of North Port, Florida passed away Nov. 10, 2009. Michael was born in Fort Myers, Florida and moved to Charlotte County in 1976 where he grew up and lived his entire life. Mike attended Port Charlotte High School and was active in football, wrestling and baseball. He was an avid fisherman, loved the Bucs and FSU football. Michael was self-employed for many years as a tile setter. Mike is survived by his mother, Lillian Caruthers; father, John Caruthers; son, Michael D. Lockey, Jr.; brothers, Timothy "TJ" M. Lockey (Candi) and Kenneth J. Caruthers; sister, Tammy Lockey (Mike Progl); nephew, Kyle Lockey; nieces, Aryianna Lockey, Alexa Lockey, and Makyia Progl; along with fiancée, Carrie Jones and her children Megan, Cortney, Morgan Kauffman and Megan's son John Hayden "Pork Chop". As well as multiple cousins, aunts and uncles and dear friends. Michael touched the lives of everyone he met - for Mike it was never "Goodbye" - It was "See You"! A celebration of his life in a memorial service will be held at 2PM Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the First Alliance Church, 20444 Midway Boulevard in Port Charlotte with Reverend Sammie Brooks officiating.
