Obituary of Howard L. Anderson

Howard (Andy) L. Anderson, 71, surrounded by his wife and children, passed away at home on March 25, 2010, after a courageous, inspirational 2 ½ year battle with brain cancer. He was born on June 29, 1938 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, graduated from Union High School in 1957, and that fall enlisted in the Air Force. He married Annabel Barnhardt and they raised three children. Annabel passed away in 2003. He retired in 1979 from the US Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant. He served two tours in Vietnam as well as tours to Guam, Spain, Germany, and multiple stateside assignments. He and his family settled in Port Charlotte. Howard continued to work for various companies driving truck plus worked for a time as warehouse manager for Bacon's Furniture. He married Jaci Dolezal Frey, retired from Foothills Trucking Company in 2006, and they spent their time traveling the US in their motor home visiting family and friends. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Jaci; children, Terri Anderson, Traci Anderson, Tim (Kathy) Anderson; grandchildren, Meghan Jordan, Ryan Anderson, and Amanda Anderson; brother, Charles (Linda) Anderson; sister, Fran (James) Stevens; step-father, James (Buck) Fields; numerous nieces and nephews; and his retired Air Force Friend, Tom Wade. Family will receive friends from 11:00AM - 12:30PM on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at Burnt Store Presbyterian Church, 11330 Burnt Store Road in Punta Gorda with a funeral service to follow.
