Obituary of Jeffrey S. Richards

Jeffrey S. Richards, 65, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Tidewell Hospice in Port Charlotte. Mr. Richards was born May 20, 1947 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and moved to this area 20 years ago from Montclair, New Jersey. He worked as a manager of Information Technology at American Cyanamid in Wayne, New Jersey. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Air Force. Mr. Richards enjoyed playing Pickle Ball, was a volunteer with The Animal Welfare League of Port Charlotte, was active in several churches in the Port Charlotte area, and was also a member of the Elks Lodge #2153 in Port Charlotte. He was an avid sports fan and a member of the Port Charlotte New York Giants Fan Club. Mr. Richards is survived by his loving wife, Jill A. Richards of Port Charlotte; son, Brett S. Richards of Port Charlotte; and daughter, Abigail G. Richards of Port Charlotte. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Gulf Cove United Methodist Church, 1100 McCall Road in Gulf Cove. At the family's request, please wear your favorite team shirt in honor of Jeffrey to the memorial service. A luncheon will follow. Private inurnment will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota.
