Obituary of Betty Lou Sanders

Betty Lou Sanders, 79, of Punta Gorda, FL, formerly of Roswell, GA, passed away on February 22, 2019. Betty was born on December 5, 1939 in Berea, KY to Ernest and Eunice Leger. She was first and foremost a wife and mother and then later entered the workforce in retail and office. Betty loved her exercise routine including the gym, walking, and biking. She loved golf and played regularly. Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Sanders, of Punta Gorda, FL; son, Jeffrey (Kerri) Sanders of Cumming, GA; daughter, Karen Benak of Punta Gorda, FL; granddaughters Brynleigh Benak of Fort Myers, FL and Julianna Benak of Osaka, Japan; siblings Herman (Nettie) Leger of London, KY, Annetta (BB) Begley of London, KY, Dorothy (Jim) Couch of London, KY, Christine (Jim) Reeder of Melbourne, KY, and Elsie (Jon) Withrow of Catoosa, OK. Betty was preceded in death by her son, Michael Sanders, in 1983. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 7th at 11:30AM at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Punta Gorda, FL, with a reception to follow at 12:30PM.
