Obituary of Sterling R. Cheek

Sterling R. Cheek, 88, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Monday, January 9, 2012 at The Palms of Punta Gorda in Punta Gorda. Mr. Cheek was born June 19, 1923 in Miami, Florida to Carl B. and Alvina (nee Randall) Cheek. He and his wife, Anna T. (nee LaRosa) Cheek were married for 50 years before she passed away on May 21, 1995. Mr. Cheek worked as a driver for a bus company and was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army. Mr. Cheek is survived by his sons, Edward R. (Noreen) Cheek of Punta Gorda and Randell J. (Candy) Cheek; sister, Jeanette Austin of Alfretta, GA; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 11:00AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 21505 Augusta Avenue in Port Charlotte with interment to follow in St. Charles Memorial Garden.
