Obituary of Ransford C. Olton

Ransford C. Olton, 78, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte. Mr. Olton was born December 2, 1932 in Jamaica, West Indies and came to this area 45 years ago from England. He worked as a carpenter in the construction industry and was of Protestant faith. Mr. Olton is survived by his son, Robert (Yvette) Olton of Tampa, FL; daughters, Paulette (Evon) Hemmings of Rotunda, FL, Paula A. (Stanley G.) Hemmings of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Patricia (Yuel) McPherson-Blake of Georgia, Pamela Olton of Miami, FL, Petula Olton of Tampa, FL, Petal (Michael) Bradley of Port Charlotte, and Penelope Olton of Miami, FL; brothers, Junior Olton and Lynval Olton both of Brooklyn, NY, Carl Olton of California, and Desmond Shirley and Barry Shirley both of Jamaica; sisters, Joan "Sunshine" Olton-Riche' of Georgia and April Shirley of Kingston, Jamaica; 15 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 10-11:00AM at Restlawn Memorial Gardens Chapel, 1380 Forrest Nelson Boulevard in Port Charlotte.
